The Manhattan DD Council’s Family and Provider Information Committee met on Jan 22 with a very informative presentation by Riddhi Mehta from the START program which provides a comprehensive system of support for OPWDD eligible persons who present with complex behavioral and mental health needs. Ms. Mehti not only presented the highlights of the program in an engaging fashion, but she created a nurturing environment in which families were able to share their experiences and providers were able to ask pertinent questions. The next meeting is scheduled for Feb 26 at SNACK with a panel presentation from the CCOs followed by PHP who will be discussing their upcoming Medicaid Only program.
