Life Adjustment Center:
Has vacancy’s in the following programs:

Brooklyn Day Hab (Individuals diagnosed with Autism)

Bronx Day Hab (Individuals diagnosed with Mild MR)

Lenox Day Hab (Medically Fraile and low functioning)

YAI:
Has vacancy’s in their ESEMP Program

In the future YAI will be conducting a care planning work series
This will include workshops on Guardianship, OPWDD Eligibility,
and workshops on how to deal with behaviors along the autism Spectrum

Fairs:

Manhattan Resource Fair:

A special thank you to those who picked up the food and Costco and and delivered it to the church where the fair was held

Annual Camp Fair:
Resources for Children with Special Needs; Gary Schulman will be hosting its annual camp fair and there will also be work shop for parents who have children along the Autism Spectrum

Information Exchange Day:
Is a day that is open for parents to meet with Adult Day Providers
It is also a day for schools, MSC, etc to bring packets to agency’s that have openings as a way to network and talk w/service providers

Packets should include the following:
IEP, Psychosocial Evaluation and a Psychological Evaluation

Guest Speakers:

A special thank you to Michael Giorgi for arranging and having his school host our Transitional Meetings

Our guest speakers today were the Speech and Language Pathologist from

PS79M who discussed the following topic:

1) Communication is the Way to a Successful Transition Communication is taught in at PS79M through a variety of technological means such as:
IPADS, INTERNET, and Educational Applications

2) Activities that help the students with Transition
The following in house activities are implemented at PS79M in order to prepare the students for Transition recycling, Super Chefs Culinary Program, and a Building Maintenance Program

The following out of house activities are implemented with PS79M

Employment at the following Worksites.

Autism Speaks, Marshals, LifeSpire, CvS, ABC Day Care,

Metropolitan Hospital, and the TCC Health Care Center
