Discussion: Jennifer Shaoul announced that on August 26, 2011 OPWDD issued a memorandum to provide clarification for individuals enrolled in the HCBS Waiver on the need to obtain annual physical examinations, and/or an annually updates psychological or social evaluation or assessment to retain waiver eligibility. The memo was issued by OPWDD staff Suzanne Sennett and Jill Pettinger. OPWDD does not require that HCBS Waiver enrollees must have an annual physical exam, or an updated psychological or social evaluation or assessment at specified intervals. The need for additional evaluations is determined on an individualized basis. For children who are provisionally eligible for HCBS waiver, updated evaluations may be warranted based on clinical need.
